Welcome To King Edward VI

"We believe that we can offer each child the opportunity to develop to his or her full potential."

King Edward VI, in Spilsby, Lincolnshire, opened as an academy in the autumn of 2012. We were formerly a humanities college.

"The choice of school for your child is a very important one and requires deep consideration. We believe that we can offer each child the opportunity to develop to his or her full potential. We pride ourselves on our level of care for the individual and wish to see each and every child achieve success in their own particular area of expertise."

Margaret Reeve (Principal)

We are a bilateral academy – that is, a secondary school with a grammar stream in each year of entry – that, as with other schools in the David Ross Education Trust’s network, has a House system. Prior to opening, we underwent a wide-ranging refurbishment, with new sports facilities, landscaped garden areas and a new learning centre named The Spine, stocked with a whole new range of books and other learning material.

We have been showing consistent improvement in recent years and in 2012 celebrated our best ever GCSE results, with all students earning at least 5 GCSEs. 66% of students achieved 5 A*-C grades, an increase of 29% on 2011.
